Chiropractic Care

What is Chiropractic Care?

Your spine is made of 24 small bones, stacked one on top of the other. These vertebrae act as armor around your spinal cord – the vital bundle of nerves that carry messages from your brain to the rest of your body. When these vertebrae are misaligned, the flow of information is then distorted and this interference creates dis-organization of bodily processes... and ultimately dis-ease.

Chiropractic care seeks to correct this nerve interference, or Vertebral Subluxation. Subluxations promote sickness and disease in the body while they rob us of our vitality and weaken our immune systems.

Chiropractic Care is about improving your neurological health, but it can be used for any health need.

Chiropractic Adjustments

At the heart of chiropractic care is the Chiropractic Adjustment or Spinal Adjustment. An adjustment is a specific manipulation of vertebrae that are moving abnormally or fail to function normally in order to allow the body's own correction of the subluxation.

This adjustment will most often be done with the doctor's hands, but other tools can be used. We use newer correction methods that are safer, more comfortable, and more effective.

Often, with an adjustment, an audible “pop” or “crack” can be heard as gases (built up oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide) release, and the sensation is usually relieving.

Patients often comment that they experience a better night's sleep and increased energy. Some patients report that their symptoms start to go away after the first adjustment, while other patients do not feel any immediate difference. If you do not feel a change immediately, please do not feel discouraged. Often, you are unaware of internal improvements.
